Service description

Makna is a brand monitoring service that tracks mentions of your brand on Reddit. The service is currently in private beta and available by invitation only. By using Makna, you agree to these terms.

Account responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your contact information up to date.

Reddit data

Makna accesses Reddit data through Reddit's official Data API, in compliance with Reddit's Developer Terms, Data API Terms, Responsible Builder Policy, and Public Content Policy. All data sourced from Reddit is subject to Reddit's policies and terms. For details on how we handle Reddit data, see our Reddit Data Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Makna only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service to harass, stalk, or target individuals identified through brand monitoring.

Prohibited uses

You may not use Makna or any data obtained through the service for:

  • Automated posting, commenting, or messaging on Reddit
  • Vote manipulation, brigading, or coordinated inauthentic engagement
  • Harassment, doxxing, or targeting of individual Reddit users
  • Reselling, redistributing, sublicensing, or sharing raw Reddit data with third parties
  • Training AI or machine learning models on Reddit content obtained through Makna
  • Deriving or inferring sensitive characteristics about Reddit users (e.g., health conditions, political affiliation, sexual orientation)
  • Attempting to re-identify, de-anonymize, or determine the real-world identity of Reddit users, including matching Reddit data with off-platform identifiers
  • Building individual profiles of Reddit users beyond what is displayed in the Makna interface
  • Any activity that violates Reddit's User Agreement, Content Policy, or Responsible Builder Policy

Billing and cancellation

Paid subscriptions will be billed monthly when available. During the private beta period, access is provided at no cost to invited participants. You can cancel anytime from your Settings page. After cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Limitation of liability

Makna is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not liable for decisions made based on data provided by the service. Reddit data availability is subject to Reddit's own terms and API policies.
